A Gentile’s exemplary faith fits Luke’s already-announced light-for-the-nations horizon and anticipates Acts, but this individual healing should not be labeled a direct fulfillment of Isaiah 49:6.

The disciples as light of the world can be read within Isaiah's servant/light-to-the-nations trajectory, but Matthew does not cite these texts and the relationship should remain graded.

Isaiah 49:6 announces the Servant’s mission as light to the nations so God’s salvation reaches the ends of the earth; 1 Timothy 2:1–7 likewise widens prayer and gospel concern to all people and names Paul as a teacher of the Gentiles. The connection belongs to the canonical expansion of salvation to the nations.

Paul’s language of being called from the womb and commissioned among the Gentiles strongly echoes Isaiah’s servant language of a womb-call joined to a mission reaching the nations.

The sharp weapon imagery associated with the servant's mouth in Isaiah 49:2 provides a strong prophetic background for the sword from Christ's mouth.

Paul’s hope that he has not “run in vain” or “laboured in vain” in Philippians 2:16 likely recalls Isaiah 49:4, where the Servant says, “I have laboured in vain,” before entrusting his cause to the LORD.

Acts 13:47 directly quotes or explicitly reuses Isaiah 49:6, so this relationship rests on the later biblical text’s own wording rather than on resemblance alone.

Isaiah 49:6 sends the servant as a light to the nations, and Luke 2:32 identifies Jesus as a light to the Gentiles. Luke’s wording strongly participates in Isaiah’s servant-and-nations horizon without formally citing the verse.

Isaiah’s light-to-the-nations servant provides a strong messianic horizon for John 8:12.

Why this connection is credible: Paul’s summary of messianic light to Israel and the Gentiles belongs to Isaiah’s light-to-the-nations trajectory.

Why this connection is credible: Acts 1:8’s mission to the earth’s farthest reach strongly echoes Isaiah 49:6’s servant-light mission to the ends of the earth.

Isaiah’s servant-as-light mission provides a strong canonical horizon for Jesus’ Light-of-the-World claim.
