The Gospel Revealed and Paul Called
Paul insists that the gospel he preached was not a human invention or merely a tradition handed to him by teachers. He recalls his former zeal for ancestral tradition and persecution of the church, then describes God’s call in language that echoes prophetic vocation: God set him apart from his mother’s womb and revealed the Son so that Paul would preach among the Gentiles. His story turns from persecutor to apostle because of divine grace, not human advancement.
