Revelation applies Sinai’s “kingdom of priests” vocation to people redeemed by Jesus, carrying Exodus’ covenant language into the book’s opening doxology. The verbal correspondence is strong and shows priestly-kingdom identity being developed within the redeemed community centered on Christ.

Revelation says the Lamb has redeemed people from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation and made them a kingdom and priests, developing Sinai’s “kingdom of priests” vocation in a Christ-centered, multinational setting. The verbal correspondence with Exodus 19 is direct and substantial.

The woman’s preservation on the wings of a great eagle in Revelation reuses Exodus language of God bearing Israel on eagles’ wings and bringing them to Himself. The shared eagle-wing and wilderness imagery casts the later protection in Exodus-like terms.

First Peter applies Sinai covenant language to believers in Christ: chosen people, royal priesthood, holy nation, and a people belonging to God who proclaim His excellencies. The verbal and covenantal correspondence with Exodus 19:5–6 is strong and shows Israel’s vocation language being reapplied in a later Christian context.

Titus calls Christ’s purified community “a peculiar people,” a people for His own possession, reusing the Septuagint covenant language associated with Israel as YHWH’s treasured possession at Sinai. The phrase shows covenant identity being reapplied to a redeemed people defined by Christ’s saving work.

At Sinai Israel is named God’s “peculiar treasure” or treasured possession; Malachi later reuses that covenant identity for those who fear the LORD and are remembered by Him. The later text therefore draws on Sinai language to describe a faithful remnant within a covenant community marked by widespread unfaithfulness.

Paul explicitly identifies Mount Sinai in his two-covenant allegory, using the mountain of the Exodus covenant as part of his argument about slavery, promise, and freedom. The connection is therefore stated by Paul rather than inferred from general covenant themes.

Revelation’s promise that the risen saints will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign continues the kingdom-and-priesthood vocation first announced to Israel at Sinai. The later vision joins priestly service and royal rule in an explicitly Christ-centered eschatological setting.

The covenant scene in 2 Kings 11 renews Judah’s identity as the LORD’s people after Athaliah’s usurpation. That covenant language develops the Sinai identity of Exodus 19, where Israel is called God’s treasured possession, kingdom of priests, and holy nation on the basis of belonging to Him.

Exodus describes Israel as God’s treasured covenant people after deliverance from Egypt; Amos recalls that same Exodus relationship and turns privilege into responsibility: “you only have I known … therefore I will punish you.”
