The Greatest Serves; Peter Is Sifted; Scripture Must Be Fulfilled
The apostles argue about greatness immediately after the covenant meal. Jesus answers that kingdom leadership must not imitate Gentile domination; the greatest must become like the younger and the leader like one who serves. “I am among you as he that serveth.”
Peter is then warned that Satan has demanded to sift the disciples, but Jesus has prayed for him and gives him a future task after turning again. The scene holds failure and restoration together.
