From Glory to the Valley: Faithless Generation, Hidden Suffering, and True Greatness
The glory of the mountain is followed immediately by the distress of the valley. Jesus confronts an unclean spirit, rebukes a faithless generation, again predicts his betrayal, and then corrects arguments about greatness and exclusion.
Where this fits in the story: biblical revelation repeatedly tests whether people can carry mountain insight into ordinary obedience. The disciples have seen glory but still misunderstand suffering, status, and the reach of God’s work.
