Leviticus 17 forbids Israel from sacrificing to seʿirim, a rare Hebrew term commonly rendered goat-demons or goat-idols in this context. Second Chronicles 11 uses the same word when describing Jeroboam’s illicit priests and cult. The shared uncommon vocabulary and apostasy setting create a strong Torah-to-Chronicles link without requiring a speculative demonology.
