Trouble, Deliverance, Resurrection, and Shining
Daniel’s final chapter moves from unprecedented trouble to deliverance for those “found written in the book,” then to one of the Old Testament’s clearest statements of resurrection: many who sleep in the dust awaken, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
This is a major canonical hinge. Resurrection is no longer only a pattern of national restoration or metaphorical revival; individuals who sleep in the dust awaken to contrasting everlasting destinies. The wise then shine like the brightness of the firmament and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever.
