Seventh Bowl: It Is Done, Babylon Remembered, Cosmic Collapse, and Hail
Revelation 16:17–21 pours the seventh bowl into the air and a voice from the temple throne declares, “It is done.” Earthquake, collapsing cities, Babylon’s remembrance before God, vanished islands and mountains, and enormous hail portray comprehensive judgment. The plague sequence reaches its climax, yet humanity’s response remains blasphemy rather than repentance.
The seventh bowl culminates in enormous hail falling on humanity, strongly recalling and intensifying the Exodus hail plague. Revelation places the image inside a final-judgment scene far larger than Pharaoh’s Egypt, using a familiar plague motif to portray divine judgment on rebellious power.
Babylon receiving the cup of God's fierce wrath continues Isaiah's cup-of-wrath imagery.
Revelation's cup of wrath for Babylon strongly recalls Jeremiah 25's cup passed among the nations.
The catastrophic hail in Revelation's final bowl participates in Ezekiel 38's final-enemy judgment imagery.
