Hannah’s Prayer of Praise
Start here: After dedicating Samuel to the Lord, Hannah prayed a song of thanksgiving. She exalted God’s holiness and His power to reverse circumstances— the weak are made strong, the poor are lifted, and the proud are humbled. This prayer is not only personal but prophetic, anticipating the way God would one day bring ultimate salvation through His chosen King. After her song, Hannah returned home, but Samuel remained to serve the Lord in Shiloh under Eli’s guidance.
Canonical window: These opening chapters move from Hannah’s prayer and reversal song through failed priestly leadership to Samuel’s established prophetic ministry. Humility, hearing God’s word, priesthood, and the expectation of God’s anointed ruler are introduced before Israel’s monarchy begins. The connection cards below show the specific Scripture links and how strongly each one is supported. This overview does not turn every similarity into a prophecy or type.
