Solomon’s Wedding Procession
King Solomon’s litter is built from Lebanon wood, silver, gold, and purple, with its interior “paved with love.” The daughters of Zion are summoned to behold the crowned king on his wedding day, “the day of the gladness of his heart.”
This is the book’s most explicit wedding scene. It also creates one of the strongest canonical bridges to Psalm 45, another poem of royal beauty, fragrance, costly materials, bride, king, and marriage. The overlap is thematic rather than a demonstrated quotation.
