Peter explicitly recalls Noah’s ark and the eight people preserved through the Flood waters, then says baptism now corresponds to that story—not as a bath for the body, but through an appeal to God tied to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

First Peter explicitly recalls the days of Noah, the ark, and the eight people preserved through water, then says baptism now corresponds to that pattern. The New Testament therefore turns Noah’s preservation through the Flood into an explicit Christian typological comparison.

First Peter’s picture of Christ enthroned at God’s right hand with angels and powers subjected to him participates in the Psalm 110:1 enthronement trajectory repeatedly applied to Jesus across the New Testament. The relationship is a strong canonical echo rather than a formal quotation here.

Both letters explicitly return to Noah’s world to interpret divine judgment and preservation: 1 Peter develops the water/baptism correspondence, while 2 Peter stresses God’s ability to preserve the godly amid judgment.

First Peter’s Noah-water typology and Second Peter’s Flood/future-judgment analogy independently make the Flood a major Christian interpretive pattern.

The enthroned Christ of 3:22 has angels, authorities, and powers subjected to him; 5:8–9 still calls believers to resist the devil, placing real spiritual opposition under the wider frame of Christ’s victory.

First Peter and 1 Timothy 3:16 share compact Christological movements involving flesh/spirit, angelic beings, proclamation, and exaltation. The approved evidence supports this relationship while keeping direct quotation, canonical development, and interpretive inference distinct.
