Jesus locates his suffering, resurrection, and the mission of repentance within the Law, Prophets, and Psalms; 2 Timothy says those Scriptures make one wise for salvation through faith in Christ.

Paul later interprets Christ’s resurrection as the firstfruits of those who sleep and the decisive answer to death; this inspired apostolic interpretation develops the resurrection reality narrated in Luke 24.

Luke 24 promises power from on high and commissions witnesses beginning at Jerusalem; Acts 2 narrates the promised Spirit’s arrival in Jerusalem and the public launch of that witness.

The Emmaus exposition of Moses and all the prophets is immediately expanded in Jerusalem to the Law of Moses, Prophets, and Psalms, where Jesus opens the disciples’ understanding and gives the suffering-resurrection-mission synthesis explicitly.

Luke 24 presents the risen Jesus giving many proofs of bodily life; Acts 1:3 explicitly continues that same resurrection-appearance period before the ascension. Acts explicitly continues Luke’s resurrection-appearance sequence. The relationship remains at its approved evidence level; Luke’s explicit quotations, Synoptic parallels, narrative echoes, and broader canonical patterns should not be collapsed into one category.

Acts identifies Luke’s promised gift from the Father as the coming baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Luke 24:47-49 commissions witness to all nations beginning from Jerusalem and promises power from on high; Acts 1:8 restates the program as Spirit-empowered witness from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.
