Luke explicitly emphasizes Nineveh’s repentance at Jonah’s proclamation and says Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites. The narrative’s judgment point is that Jesus’ generation has someone greater than Jonah and still resists repentance.

Matthew explicitly interprets Jonah’s three days in the fish as a sign of the Son of Man’s burial/resurrection. Luke does not include that three-days explanation here; resurrection can be connected canonically through Matthew and Luke 24, but it should not be presented as Luke 11’s explicit wording.

This is explicit Christological interpretation, not merely inferred foreshadowing: Jesus names the Queen of the South coming to hear Solomon’s wisdom and declares that something greater than Solomon is present.

The lamp image returns after the sign controversy. Luke’s repeated light/hearing material turns revelation into accountability: the issue is not lack of divine light but how it is received.

Proverbs belongs to the Solomonic wisdom tradition; Jesus explicitly refers to the queen of the south coming to hear Solomon’s wisdom and then declares that one greater than Solomon is present. The New Testament reference establishes a direct wisdom-to-Christ comparison.

Luke preserves Jesus’ explicit Queen of the South saying: she came to hear Solomon’s wisdom, and Jesus declares that one greater than Solomon is present. Together with Matthew 12:42, this gives double Synoptic confirmation of the greater-Solomon Christological comparison.
