Priestly Sobriety, Distinction, and Teaching
Priests were not merely animal-sacrifice technicians. Leviticus says they had to distinguish holy/common and clean/unclean and teach Israel. Ezekiel and Malachi later repeat that priestly teaching vocation almost point for point.
Where this fits in the story: Exodus 19 and 28–29 establish Israel's holiness vocation and the special priesthood; Leviticus 10 now states core priestly duties of discernment and instruction.
Where Scripture takes it next: The New Testament develops a broader priestly-people identity, but no apostolic text explicitly cites Leviticus 10:8–11 to define Christian ministers or Christ's own priesthood.
