Summary Purpose: Teaching Clean and Unclean Conditions
The restored closing verses tell us what these strange laws are for: learning to distinguish clean from unclean—exactly the priestly job assigned back in Leviticus 10 and repeated by Ezekiel.
Where this fits in the story: Leviticus 10:10–11 — very strong internal vocational connection. Priests must distinguish holy/common and clean/unclean and teach Israel; 14:54–57 closes the tzaraat laws by stating that their purpose is to teach when something is unclean and when clean.
