Sukkot: Ingathering, Rejoicing, Branches, and Booths

Where this fits in the story: Exodus 23/34 gives the Feast of Ingathering agricultural background.

Where Scripture takes it next: John 7:1–39 — Very Strong explicit festival setting. Jesus attends the Feast of Booths and gives major teaching there. Later Temple water/light ceremonies may illuminate John's presentation but must be distinguished from Leviticus's own wording.

Coming Savior connection: John 7 explicitly places Jesus at the Feast of Booths and records His cry, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink,” on the feast’s climactic day. That makes the festival setting itself highly important. Later Second Temple water-pouring customs may help explain why the saying would have landed so powerfully, but Leviticus 23 does not itself predict Jesus’ words or call a drink offering a Messiah prophecy. The strongest claim is that Jesus deliberately reveals Himself within the scriptural feast and its later worship setting.
