Gog and Magog, Final Rebellion, and Satan's Defeat
Revelation 20:2–10 follows the old serpent from binding to brief release and final defeat. After the thousand years Satan deceives the nations again, gathers them in a Gog-and-Magog rebellion, and is consumed by divine judgment. The Devil is then cast into the lake of fire, where the beast and false prophet already are, bringing the serpent’s biblical storyline to its irreversible end.
Revelation 20:7–10 describes Satan’s release, his deception of nations called Gog and Magog, their encirclement of the saints, and their destruction by fire from God. Ezekiel’s Gog imagery is reused on a worldwide scale rather than copied point for point. The conflict ends not in uncertainty but with Satan’s final consignment to the lake of fire.
Revelation explicitly names Gog and Magog, reusing Ezekiel's final-enemy names for the nations gathered against God's people.
Romans 16:20 promises that the God of peace will crush Satan under the believers’ feet; Revelation 20:7–10 supplies the canon’s final defeat of the dragon/Satan. The relationship is a strong canonical consummation of the serpent-conflict trajectory, not a direct verbal quotation.
