Golden Altar of Incense and Annual Atonement
God instructed Moses to build a special altar—not for sacrifices, but for incense. This altar of incense was to be placed directly in front of the veil that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies. Aaron was to burn fragrant incense on it every morning and evening, symbolizing continual prayer rising before God.
The lamp and incense-altars belong to the same ordered sanctuary service, with regular light and regular incense marking continual worship before YHWH. The relationship inside Exodus is structural and cultic rather than a claim that one object directly predicts the other.
