David Buys Araunah’s Threshing Floor and Builds an Altar
Gad directs David to raise an altar at Araunah’s threshing floor. David refuses to offer God what costs him nothing, buys the site and animals, offers sacrifices, and the plague ends—while Chronicles later identifies this location with the future temple site. That creates a broader altar-temple trajectory that Christian readers can follow toward Jesus, but it is not a direct Christ prophecy. Test the tradition: the temple/Moriah link is biblical in Chronicles; identifying the exact rock with Genesis 22 or the present Dome-of-the-Rock rock goes beyond what these texts prove.
