An Altar on Ornan’s Threshing Floor
At God’s command, David buys Ornan’s threshing floor, builds an altar, offers sacrifices, and receives fire from heaven as a sign of acceptance. The LORD then commands the angel to sheath the sword. This location becomes the decisive transition toward the temple site. The parallel purchase account in Samuel gives a different price because it describes the transaction differently; proposed harmonizations should be presented as proposals, not certainties.
