The First Blow – Water Turned to Blood
The next time Moses stood before Pharaoh, it was no longer just a matter of words. The Lord had waited, but now judgment would begin to flow—literally. God told Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.” So, the Lord sent him to meet Pharaoh in the early morning, as he went out to the Nile.
The setting was intentional. The Nile River was more than just water to the Egyptians—it was their lifeblood, their god, their source of power and prosperity. By confronting Pharaoh at the river, God wasn’t just challenging a man; He was confronting a whole system of false worship and dependence.
