Colossians’ “circumcision made without hands” belongs to the canonical movement from bodily sign toward inward transformation already anticipated by Deuteronomy’s call to circumcise the heart.

Jeremiah tells Judah to circumcise themselves to YHWH and remove the foreskins of the heart, directly developing Deuteronomy’s inner-covenant metaphor. The prophet makes inward loyalty the urgent repentance issue.

Deuteronomy joins loving YHWH, walking in his ways, and keeping commandments; 2 John likewise defines love through walking according to God’s commandments. Love and obedience remain inseparable covenant categories.

Ecclesiastes’ call to fear God belongs to the same covenant world in which Deuteronomy asks what YHWH requires: fear him, walk in his ways, love, serve, and keep his commandments. Wisdom therefore remains anchored in covenant obedience.
