Every Creature Gives Worship to God and the Lamb
Revelation 5:8–14 expands worship from the elders and living creatures to countless angels and finally every creature. The new song celebrates the Lamb’s worthiness because He was slain and redeemed a people for God. By the end of the scene, blessing and honor are directed to the One on the throne and to the Lamb together.
Philippians’ universal bowing and confessing before Jesus belongs with Revelation’s vision of every creature in heaven, earth, and under the earth giving worship to God and the Lamb.
Chronicles summons the nations and all creation to proclaim YHWH’s salvation, glory, and kingship; Revelation culminates with every creature giving worship to God and the Lamb. The connection is a broad universal-worship trajectory across Scripture rather than proof that Revelation directly quotes this particular Chronicles hymn.
David praises YHWH as the source of power, glory, victory, majesty, riches, honor, and kingdom; Revelation’s throne-room worship uses strikingly similar praise vocabulary for God and the Lamb. The resonance is very strong, though Revelation gathers language from a broad biblical worship tradition rather than proving exclusive dependence on Chronicles.
