Remember the Apostles; Build, Pray, Keep, and Rescue
After exposing the intruders, Jude turns directly to the faithful: “but ye, beloved.” The church is not told merely to attack error. Believers are told to remember the apostles’ warning, strengthen themselves in the faith, pray in the Holy Ghost, remain in God’s love, wait for Christ’s mercy, and show mercy to people who are in spiritual danger.
Where this fits in the Bible: warnings about future deception appear in Acts and several New Testament letters. Jude 18 is especially close to 2 Peter 3:2–3. Jude’s language about pulling someone from fire also recalls Amos 4:11, while the picture of a stained garment may echo Zechariah 3.
