Psalms 118:26
“Save now” gives the form behind Hosanna, and “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the LORD” is shouted in the triumphal-entry narratives and quoted by Jesus in his Jerusalem lament. These are genuine Psalm 118 reuses. Verse 27, however, should not be presented as an explicit prediction of Jesus being bound to the cross; that reading belongs to later interpretation, not an NT quotation.
Jesus closes his Jerusalem lament with Psalm 118:26—“Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord”—and Luke returns to the same acclamation at the triumphal entry. The repeated explicit use ties Jerusalem’s response to Jesus directly to the psalm’s pilgrim/royal language.
Jesus quotes the 'Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the LORD' acclamation already heard at the Jerusalem entry, now placing it in a future-facing statement after Jerusalem's rejection.
