The Feast on the Mountain and Death Swallowed Up
Isaiah 25:6–9 is a distinct movement within Isaiah’s oracles concerning the nations and the wider world. It centers on The Feast on the Mountain and Death Swallowed Up. In Isaiah’s own horizon, the LORD is shown ruling not only Judah but the nations, history, death, and the future kingdom. This unit shows how the book sets human pride, false refuge, or covenant failure against the LORD’s holiness, judgment, saving action, and promised restoration. Later canonical uses are explained separately: explicit New Testament interpretation is labeled explicit, while echoes, trajectories, and foreshadowing are kept at their proper evidence level.
