Why Seek the Living among the Dead? He Is Risen
At early dawn the women find the stone moved and the body absent. Heavenly messengers ask, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” and remind them that Jesus had already predicted his death and resurrection. The women report this to the apostles; Peter runs to the tomb.
Where this fits in the story: Luke’s death-to-life Thread reaches its decisive turning point. Resurrection is presented as fulfillment of Jesus’ prior word, not an idea invented to cope with disappointment.
Luke again foregrounds the women who followed from Galilee as the first messengers of the empty tomb, continuing a witness line introduced long before the passion.
