Jesus says the prophets wrote things concerning the Son of Man that will be fulfilled in his rejection, abuse, death, and resurrection. Isaiah 52–53 and Psalm 22 are major canonical candidates, but Luke does not identify a single verse here, so those passages should be presented as strong canonical candidates rather than as verses Luke explicitly names.

Luke 24 later confirms that Messiah’s suffering, resurrection, and mission are to be read from the Law, Prophets, and Psalms. That later inspired explanation is the controlling interpretive key for Luke 18:31 rather than a speculative one-verse fulfillment list.

At the empty tomb the messengers tell the women to remember Jesus’ prior words that the Son of man must be delivered, crucified, and rise the third day, explicitly presenting resurrection as fulfillment of Jesus’ passion prediction.
