Glory on the Mountain and the Exodus to Be Accomplished at Jerusalem
Jesus goes up the mountain to pray and is transfigured. Moses and Elijah appear in glory and speak of the “decease” he will accomplish at Jerusalem. The Greek word is exodos—departure/exodus—making the coming passion and departure sound inside Israel’s great deliverance vocabulary.
Where this fits in the story: mountain revelation, cloud, glory, Moses, prophetic witness, exodus, and divine sonship converge. The Father’s voice again identifies Jesus as Son and commands the disciples to hear him.
