The Faithful Son in the Wilderness
Full of the Holy Ghost, Jesus enters the wilderness and meets the devil’s testing with Scripture from Deuteronomy. Each answer comes from passages that interpret Israel’s wilderness experience: bread and dependence, testing the LORD, and exclusive worship. Jesus relives Israel-shaped tests but refuses the shortcuts offered to him.
Where this fits in the story: Adam faced temptation in a garden of abundance; Israel faced testing in a wilderness of hunger; Jesus enters the wilderness as the obedient Son. Luke therefore joins creation, exodus, sonship, kingdom, and adversary themes in one tightly packed scene.
