Do Not Grow Weary in Doing Good
Paul balances firm community discipline with a command not to become tired of doing good. If someone refuses the apostolic instruction, the congregation is to mark the behavior and limit ordinary association so the person may become ashamed.
But Paul immediately draws a boundary: “count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” The goal is correction inside a family relationship, not humiliation or hatred.
Aha: the same paragraph that authorizes boundaries forbids dehumanization.
