Exodus 34:34
When Moses descended from Mount Sinai with the two newly inscribed tablets, something remarkable had changed—not just the covenant, but Moses himself. His face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. Though Moses didn’t know it, his encounter with God had left a visible mark of glory that caused awe and even fear among the people.
Paul adapts Moses’ turning toward YHWH and removal of the veil into a call to turn to “the Lord” so the veil is removed. The Exodus scene supplies the narrative pattern, while 2 Corinthians develops it christologically within Paul’s old/new-covenant argument.
