Peter’s sermon in Acts directly reaches back to the Abrahamic promise that all families of the earth would be blessed through Abraham’s seed and places that promise inside the apostolic proclamation of Jesus.

Genesis 26:4 repeats the promise that in Isaac’s seed all nations of the earth will be blessed; Acts 3:25 quotes the same Abrahamic seed-and-nations promise while proclaiming Jesus.

Acts 3:23 combines Moses’ prophet warning with “cut off/destroyed from among the people” covenant-sanction language that closely matches Leviticus 23:29. The Mosaic quotation is explicit, while the Leviticus contribution is best classified as a probable composite-scriptural echo rather than an announced quotation of Leviticus.

Peter directly quotes the prophet-like-Moses promise and applies it to Jesus, while Acts 3:23 appears to blend Deuteronomy with additional covenant-sanction language rather than deriving every word from one verse.

Peter explicitly names Samuel among the prophets who announced the messianic days, placing Samuel at the front of a prophetic stream that points toward God’s promised Messiah. The connection broadens Samuel’s significance beyond the immediate monarchy narrative and gives a New Testament perspective on his place in redemptive history.

Peter identifies Samuel as a major prophet in the scriptural witness looking toward the messianic days, giving a New Testament interpretation of Samuel’s place in salvation history.

God’s answer to Solomon joins humility, prayer, seeking, turning, forgiveness, and restoration. Peter likewise calls hearers to repent and turn so sins may be blotted out. The New Testament application is repentance-shaped, not a direct transfer of Israel’s land promise to a modern nation.

Acts 3 explicitly quotes Deuteronomy 18’s prophet-like-Moses promise and applies it to Jesus, making this one of Deuteronomy’s clearest inspired Christological connections. Peter presents the promise as fulfilled in Jesus.
