No One Knows the Hour: Watch
Jesus closes the discourse by saying that no one knows the day or hour—not angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father. He compares his absence to a man leaving servants responsible for their work and repeatedly commands them to watch because they do not know when the master will return.
Where this fits in the story: the practical conclusion to a chapter often mined for prediction charts is humility and faithfulness. Jesus explicitly places a boundary around human knowledge of timing.
Where Scripture takes it next: the passion begins. The disciples who have been told to watch will soon be told to watch in Gethsemane—and will fall asleep. Mark turns eschatological vigilance into immediate discipleship.
