Leviticus 20 prohibits turning to mediums and familiar spirits as covenant unfaithfulness. First Samuel 28 narrates Saul deliberately consulting the medium at Endor after YHWH no longer answers him. The story therefore places Saul’s act inside a Torah-forbidden practice and shows the tragic collapse of a king who violates the holiness standard he once enforced.
