Revelation 1:18
Revelation 1:9–20 gives John’s opening vision of the risen Christ among seven golden lampstands. The imagery of the Son of Man, blazing eyes, radiant glory, and sovereign authority draws heavily from Daniel’s heavenly visions, while the lampstands are explicitly interpreted as the seven churches. The scene establishes Jesus as present among His churches and Lord over death and the grave.
Revelation 1:12–20 centers on the glorious figure John sees among the lampstands. Features such as the Son-of-Man form, white hair, fiery eyes, bronze-like feet, mighty voice, and radiant face belong to the prophetic vision world of Daniel and Ezekiel, yet Revelation applies the combined portrait to the risen Jesus, who identifies Himself as the living One who was dead and is alive for evermore.
The contrast is Christologically powerful while remaining a canonical trajectory rather than specific Revelation reuse of Ecclesiastes.
