Swarming Creatures, Holiness, and Distinguishing Clean from Unclean
Peter does not merely borrow a generic slogan about being good. He reaches back to Leviticus's own holiness vocabulary and applies it to Christian life.
Where this fits in the story: Exodus redemption is explicitly recalled in 11:45: YHWH brought Israel up from Egypt and therefore calls them to holiness.
Where Scripture takes it next: 1 Peter 1:13–16 — very strong explicit quotation/reuse. “Be holy, for I am holy” draws directly from the Levitical holiness formula, including Leviticus 11:44–45 and related occurrences.
