The LORD Himself Searches for His Sheep
The startling answer to failed human shepherds is that the LORD himself will search for, rescue, gather, feed, bind up, and strengthen his sheep. John 10 places Jesus in this shepherding role, making Ezekiel 34 one of the book’s strongest YHWH-to-Christ canonical trajectories: Jesus’ Good Shepherd claim gathers up work Ezekiel assigns to Israel’s God.
Ezekiel portrays the LORD himself seeking, rescuing, gathering, feeding, and binding up his scattered sheep. Jesus' searching shepherd stands naturally within that divine-shepherd promise, though Luke does not quote Ezekiel here.
