Restitution and Reparation for Deceiving a Neighbor
Leviticus refuses to split “religion” from wronging a neighbor. Deceiving another person is called unfaithfulness against YHWH, and restoration requires repair, not merely a ritual.
Where this fits in the story: In Hebrew/Masoretic versification this is 5:20–26 and directly continues Chapter 5's asham legislation.
Where Scripture takes it next: Matthew 5:23–24 strongly resonates ethically: reconciliation with a brother/sister takes priority even when one is bringing a gift to the altar. Jesus does not present this as a quotation of Leviticus 6, so classify as thematic parallel rather than direct interpretation.
