The Fall of Jerusalem
Babylon breaches Jerusalem, destroys the temple and city, deports Judah’s leaders, and brings the monarchy to collapse. Jerusalem finally falls: the city is breached, the temple is burned, leaders are executed, people are deported, and the remnant fractures. Yet the book refuses to end only with ashes—the final scene raises the captive Davidic king Jehoiachin from prison, a small sign that judgment has not erased the royal line or exhausted God’s covenant story.
