Gleaning, Justice, Wages, Disability, and Love of Neighbor
Jesus' “second greatest commandment” comes from a paragraph about fields, wages, courts, disability, hatred, vengeance, and rescue. Biblical love is concrete before it is sentimental.
Where this fits in the story: Exodus/Deuteronomy justice laws supply broader covenant protection for vulnerable persons, truthful courts, workers, and the poor.
Where Scripture takes it next: Matthew 22:34–40 — Certain quotation: Jesus names Leviticus 19:18 the second great commandment beside Deuteronomy 6:5.
