The Tablets of Testimony – Written by the Finger of God
When God finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, He gave him the two tablets of the covenant law—stone tablets inscribed by the very finger of God. These were no ordinary documents. They were sacred, holy, divine. God Himself had written them as a permanent testimony of His covenant relationship with Israel.
These tablets represented far more than laws etched in stone—they were a symbol of God's desire to dwell with His people in righteousness. The words on them defined what it meant to be set apart, to live as a holy nation. But as we will soon see in the next chapter, even as the law was being written, the people below were breaking it.
