Called by Name – Bezalel and the Spirit- Filled Work of Worship
As God finished detailing the sacred elements of worship, He turned His attention to the hands that would build them. He called out Bezalel by name—a man filled with the Spirit of God, endowed with skill, ability, and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship. Alongside him, Oholiab was chosen as a helper. These men were not merely artisans—they were Spirit-empowered servants, chosen to shape the earthly reflection of God’s heavenly dwelling.
This moment is monumental. It marks the first time Scripture explicitly mentions someone being filled with the Spirit of God. The task wasn’t preaching or prophecy—it was craftsmanship. That tells us something beautiful: the Holy Spirit doesn’t only anoint mouths for ministry but hands for service. Bezalel’s work was sacred because it was Spirit-led.
