Consecration Begins – Set Apart for a Holy Purpose
God now laid out detailed instructions for consecrating Aaron and his sons as priests. This wasn’t a casual ceremony—it was a sacred rite designed to set them apart for ministry in His holy presence. The process began with bringing them forward, washing them with water, and clothing them in the special garments described earlier. Each step was rich with spiritual meaning: the washing symbolized cleansing from sin, and the garments represented righteousness and dignity bestowed by God.
They didn’t choose the priesthood; they were called into it. And their consecration reflected both God’s holiness and His grace in allowing imperfect men to stand before Him on behalf of others.
