This is one of 1 Kings’ strongest Christological foreshadowing trajectories: Solomon builds the historical temple, while Jesus explicitly identifies his own body as the temple. The institution of temple/presence points forward; every architectural detail does not automatically become a Christ symbol.

Deuteronomy’s chosen-place theology develops through sanctuary and temple and reaches a Christ-centered climax when Jesus identifies his own body as the temple. The trajectory develops historically before reaching its Christological climax.

The ordered arrival of the ark in Jerusalem advances the biblical story of sacred presence and sanctuary; John 2 later explicitly centers temple identity in Jesus’ body. The relationship is broad canonical development from divine presence in Israel’s worship toward Christ as the true temple, not a direct quotation of Chronicles.

Ezra celebrates the rebuilding of the temple, while John 2 explicitly explains Jesus’ temple saying as referring to the temple of his body. The connection places the second-temple restoration inside the larger sacred-space trajectory that the Gospel ultimately centers on Christ rather than treating Ezra’s building as the final horizon.
