God Promises to Exalt Joshua
Joshua 3 records Israel’s miraculous crossing of the Jordan River. God’s presence, symbolized by the ark of the covenant, led the way, and the waters stopped so the people could pass on dry ground.
The promised Jordan sign deliberately places Joshua in Moses’ Exodus-shaped leadership pattern: God opens an impossible water barrier before the nation and explicitly says the event will show Israel that He is with Joshua as He was with Moses.
