God Be Merciful and Make His Way Known on Earth
Psalm 67 echoes the priestly blessing of Numbers 6: God’s face shining on his people becomes the means by which God’s way and saving health are known among all nations. Blessing is therefore outward-facing, not merely private prosperity.
This is a major biblical mission trajectory: Israel’s blessing is connected with worldwide knowledge of God. Christian mission continues that universal movement, while the psalm itself remains rooted in Israel’s worship and the priestly blessing.
