A Spirit-Filled Community Takes Shape
Acts 2:42–47 centers on a spirit-filled community takes shape. The baptized community devotes itself to apostolic teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayers. Awe, signs, temple gathering, shared meals, praise, generosity, and daily growth describe a community whose worship and economics have been reshaped.
The wider biblical story comes into focus here. The scene resonates with covenant-community hopes such as Deuteronomy’s concern that need not harden into permanent destitution. Temple and household are not enemies here: believers remain visibly Jewish in sacred-space practice while their life around the risen Jesus takes a new communal shape.
