One Unique Day: Living Waters Flow and the LORD Is King Over All
The day becomes cosmically strange—neither ordinary day nor night, yet light appears at evening. Living waters flow out from Jerusalem both east and west in every season. Then comes one of Zechariah’s great declarations: ‘the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.’ The land is transformed, Jerusalem is raised and safely inhabited, and ‘there shall be no more utter destruction/curse.’
Where Scripture takes it next: Revelation 11:15 announces the world kingdom of ‘our Lord, and of his Christ.’ Revelation 22 gathers living-water and no-curse imagery into the New Jerusalem of God and the Lamb. Zechariah is not the only source—Ezekiel 47 and Genesis also matter—but its contribution is unmistakable.
