Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication
In 1 Kings 8:22–53, the narrative focuses on solomon’s prayer of dedication. This belongs to the temple-building and dedication movement. The text explains how the house is prepared, built, furnished, filled with the glory of the LORD, and dedicated in prayer. The crucial question is not merely whether the building is magnificent, but whether king and people remain faithful to the covenant God whose name is associated with it.
